Shimano introduces several new road racing wheelsets this year. Please find below the details of the new line-up.
Dura-Ace high profile carbon wheelset (WH-7801-carbon50)
Shimano has developed a new Dura-Ace road racing wheelset with a full carbon rim profile of 50mm. This wheel set has been developed according to the demands of professional road racing. They have a set weight of 1525 grams.
They have 16 bladed spokes in the front and 20 in the rear and they will be produced in tubular version for Shimano 10-speed only. These wheels combine an exceptional rigidity with a lightweight aerodynamic design. Dura-Ace hub technology guarantees smooth turning and perfect adjustment thanks to the proven Shimano cup and cone system. Last but not least, they have an attractive appeal that will turn every bike into a racing machine.
With the addition of this wheel set we have created an optimal line-up of Shimano Dura-Ace wheels. They will be available in the market from July 2006.
Ultegra wheelset (WH-6600)
Shimano is introducing the first road racing wheelset carrying the Ultegra logo. Weight of the complete set will be 1.687 grams with 16 double butted and bladed spokes in the front and 20 in the rear wheel. The wide flange design and offset silver coloured aluminum rim increases rear wheel rigidity.
These wheels have an aluminum axle and freehub body that is compatible with Shimano 10-speed only. These Ultegra wheels will be available in the market from June 2006.
Shimano 105 wheelset (WH-5600)
Another novelty is a wheelset carrying the Shimano 105 logo. This wheelset WH-5600 has polished and anodized silver coloured aluminum rims. The rear wheel has a wide flange design and offset rim to increase rigidity. The weight will be 1.763 grams for a set. It has 16 double butted and bladed spokes in the front and 20 in the rear wheel. WH-5600 is compatible with 8, 9 and 10-speed cassette sprockets. They will be available in the market from June 2006.
