| What is the difference between a top swing and a down swing Front Derailleur? |
 |
At a Top Swing Front Derailleur, the moving pivot is set at a higher position and combined with a shorter link. Because of this, the rigidity is higher and light shifting is possible.
Down Swing Front Derailleurs are still available for frames on which a Top Swing Front Derailleur can not be assembled. (e.g. Full suspensions)
