| Why is there a small bulging on the Small- and Middle Front Chain Rings? |
 |
This small bulging is a very important marking to set the chainrings in the correct position to each other. The bulging should be aligned with the Right Hand Crank Arm.
If the chainring is not correct assembled, it can have a bad influence on the shifting performance. Additional to that, it can also be the cause for chainsuck! (Chain jamming while shifting)
So whenever you need to replace the chainrings, please always note this marking.
NOTE: The big chainring does not have this bulging marking, but a pin that prevents the chain to drop between the crank arm and chain ring.
