Not sure if the Shimano Beastmaster is the margin pole for you? We let Advanced Pole Fishing's Mark Williams test one to the max and here's part of his convincing review...
"I threw myself in at the deep end by testing the Beastmaster Margin in 'the jungle' swim at Drayton Reservoir but the pole performed excellently and I was surprised by how much stick I could give it.
It is plenty strong enough for all margin and power fishing likely to be found in the UK, as it can handle extra-strong elastics and will be a good edition to any anglers kit, just in case you decide to fish an animal peg.
The pole is stiff enough that it can be fished at its full length of 8.5m all day without any aches. It also displays excellent balance, something that's often left out of the design of a margin pole. Plus, it carries an elastic rating that is definitely justified by its awesome strength. Considering the price of this pole, it is great value at just 130 GBP. There's also a spare top kit supplied, which adds to the attractive price.
Overall, this pole is a pleasure to use. Shimano has a real cash cow in the form of the Beastmaster Margin 850 and as long as the trend for commercials stuffed with big fish continues, there will always be a place for it."
