GOLD FOR OMEGA PHARMA-QUICKSTEP
Omega Pharma-QuickStep has on Sunday won gold at the team time trial of the World Championships in Limburg. The formation finished with all their six men and kept BMC at three seconds.
Philippe Gilbert’s team shattered in parts on the famous Cauberg in Valkenburg. With only four riders left they eventually finished second. Orica-GreenEdge took bronze.
OPQS riders Tom Boonen, Niki Terpstra, Kristof Vandewalle, Sylvain Chavanel and Tony Martin can now call themselves world champions team time trial for one year.
