Christian Vande Velde (Garmin-Slipsteam) won the fourth stage of Paris-Nice over 173.5 km from Vichy to Saint Etienne. Vande Velde was riding solo to the victory. Second place was for Jonathan Hivert (Skil-Shimano) who won the sprint of the chasing group. Both riders were using the new Dura-Ace 7900 series.
